1st Annual Prints for Progress

I have always donated to all my friends’ causes, but I’ve never taken the initiative myself to do some fundraising for a cause.   I’m tired of sitting the sideline and being an idle participant, so I decided to start Prints for Progress in hopes of raising money with my photography for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund (http://www.childrenscancer.org/).  This is a collection of some of my favorite photos from the last couple years since I began photography.

Children have always held a special place in my heart with their curiosity, wild imaginations and the belief of limit possibilities in front of them.  And I could not imagine what they go through or what their family goes through, because I have lost loved ones to cancer, but never children.

All the money raised from print sales will be donated minus the shipping costs.

Prints will be sold through Sunday, December 6th and shipped out weekly.  All prints are also available in black and white upon request.  Prints will be printed on Kodak Lustre paper (lustre is the finish in between matte and glossy).  With each order I will also email you the digital copy of your print with my watermark.  It will not have the resolution to be printed but you can show people which print you’ve purchased.  Prices will be as follows:

4×6 – $15
8×12 – $35
16×24 – $70
$8 – shipping on entire order

If there are any special requests please feel free to ask.  I will be accepting checks, money orders and non-credit card PayPal payments for these items.  I do not wish to accept credit cards for these prints because that is an additional costs that could be donated. Please contact me at info@tywynn.com on how to order.  Please indicate which image number you are interested and size of prints.  Also include a description of the picture just to make sure there is no mistake.  Please pass this along to those you know and would support this cause.  Thank you for your support in helping me get this off the ground.

I leave you with Seven Facts from the Children’s Cancer Research Fund:

Fact #1 – Every school day, 46 young people, or two classrooms of students, are diagnosed with cancer in this country.

Fact #2 – Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death due to illness in children in the United States. More kids die from childhood cancer every year than die of asthma, cystic fibrosis, pediatric aids and diabetes combined.

Fact #3 – Despite dramatic increases in five-year survival rates, more than 100,000 years of life are lost to childhood cancer each year.

Fact #4 – The incidence of childhood cancer is increasing. Support from the federal government is dwindling. More support from organizations like Children’s Cancer Research Fund is needed so that we can keep making gains in treating kids with cancer.

Fact #5 – Unlike many adult cancers, we don’t know what causes childhood cancer and there are virtually no early detection techniques.

Fact #6 – Thanks to research, in the past fifty years, survival rates for children with cancer have risen from 10% to 80%.

Fact #7 – The research for childhood caners has led to discoveries impacting treatments and survival rates of adults with cancer and kids with other life-threatening diseases.
